Technology

I am not someone who really fond of technology. I'm kind of old fashioned when it comes to this I feel that it is depended on to much, from schools to business. It is something everyone depends on and I feel that is not the best thing for this world.

Einstein Quote

I agree that the interaction between people has changed so much with the technology. I feel that some depend on it to much and that some may say we are a generation of idiots.

One Simple Question

If asked this question I would say that I was raised outside. I was always outside doing something from sports, bicycling, games, fun in the water, and even just chilling on the deck with the neighbor kids. It is hard to believe that technology has become such an important aspect to the children’s day to day life.

Hijacking the dinner table

The way that people reacted to their technology shutting down was amazing. People literally threw fits when their technology quit working, even just to sit down for a meal with the family. What used to be a sit-down meal with the family to talk about each other’s day, has become harder than some may think.

First gene-edited baby

I feel that this is a great discovery and crazy that this is even a thing. I do feel that this is something that should not be done for that this is unethical.

25 Best Inventions

Wow those are some amazing inventions that they have come up with. The one that caught my eyes the most happened to be the “On-demand eyes for the blind.”  I feel that this is an amazing thing that will be so helpful for people that could really use it. This is such a helpful device I just hope that it is reassembly prices that it is actually an option for those that could uses it.

Millennials Use Technology

I am not shocked that millennials are the high in the ownership of a smartphone, or tablet and use of social media. Millennials grew up with this all around them so it doesn’t seem that odd for them to use these things as it does the older generations. They grew up with little to no technology, so to them they have lived without it this long why have it now.

  1. I think technology has surpassed some capabilities that humans can't resist, but if we don't teach ourselves than we will become idiots. I was also raised outside, I mean I never planted anything, but school would keep us mostly outside. It was only a few minutes we would be on the old computers. I remember we had a time capsule and I think about it too this day. The teacher didn't tell us where it was dug but that one day some one would find it and will get to see what we liked when we were young. Schools I think can regulate technology but it seems more difficult with the those in high school. The fact that many do not respect the dinner table anymore is very alarming. I remember as a family we would always ask or talk about our day. It all depends on the parents, so thumbs up to those parents that do find ways to get family time. I think technology is so advanced it helps in certain areas but should not be neglected in others for example the edited gene baby. There is need for cures but at the cost of a new born I think is to high of a risk. Inventions are great but I think we can live without some of them. We see inventions every time and the waste people have today is huge. I know millennials can be a group of much intellect, but if not wisedly it can all go to waste.

  2. Great post! I too agreed with Einstein's quote. I don't feel that everyone sees the point of technology. Technology in my opinion is meant to advance the world and make a positive impact to areas but it is not meant to take over like many people have let it. There are too many people that are completely dependent on technology that they don't know what to do without it. I was also a child raised outdoors. I absolutely loved and still love nature and the outdoors. I was the kid that was rarely inside. Having children of my own, I make sure to keep nature in my kids lives as well. My children never want to be inside. They love helping in the garden, helping at the farm, doing cattle work, riding bikes, swimming, running in the yard, playing in the rocks, and so much more. Yes my children play on their tablets but they are limited like every child should be. I know that I have raised them right because if they were asked if they want to play video games or play outside, they would choose playing outside every time. The video over hijacking the diner table didn't shock me because I have personally seen people throw a fit over not getting to have technology while eating. It blows my mind that so many people react like the world is ending when they dont have technology. Technology is being over used and abused in a sense. Just like the gene edited baby. This is both over using and abusing technology in my opinion. Technology can be for the good if used correctly.

  3. I think that the new inventions revolving around helping others are great for our society. I think that it is incredible that we live in a world where a double amputee can run a marathon thanks to technology. While there are downsides to it, there are advantages.

  4. I agree that technology has had several negative impacts on today's society, at the same time I believe it is important to look at the positive impacts as well. Like you mentioned, technology has brought along some amazing inventions that can change lives. While technology can be "life changing", technology has severely limited connections among people. I agree with your observations!!

  5. Yes, I was raised outside like you did, Sam! It's really sad to see how newer generation spend more time online instead of interaction with "actual" outside world. I understand when you said that you don't get along with technology--I feel the same way as technology has evolved in the fast pace and it seems I am always lagging behind---but, I realize I will just move backward if I refuse to learn it. So, I try my best to embrace and learn the new technique with assistance from others!
